Raul wants to remain a one club man
Real Madrid legend Raul has turned down a lucrative move to Manchester City next season.

Reports yesterday claimed several Premier League clubs were interested in the Spanish striker, with City able to offer the best pay deal, but Raul insists he wants to end his career with Real.

Sticking with Spain, Barcelona bench-warmer Eidur Gudjohnsen says he would welcome a move back to England.

The agent of Argentinean striker Diego Milito is reportedly in London seeking talks with a number of Premier League clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur were rumoured to be interested in his last summer, while Manchester City and Everton are believed to be on Milito's radar this time.

City will be boosted in the transfer market with news that a £30m four-year shirt sponsorship contract with Air Etihad is expected to be announced next week.

However, Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has warned counterpart Mark Hughes that City will face a tough time getting players for a good price as everyone knows they have so much wealth.

Speaking of wealth, Chelsea are ready to write off £7 million by paying up the final year of Andriy Shevchenko's contract.

The Blues are also set to offer Michael Ballack a one year contract extension that will see him paid £121,000-a-week.

Finally, Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce says he lined up Portsmouth's Peter Crouch in January in case Roque Santa Cruz left. A plan he may be forced to revisit on the summer.
