Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to be a significant part of a team and develop some exceptional software solutions rather than be a cog.
As a developer you will be working on our customer facing web products and related back end software. You will have the opportunity to get involved in the full software life cycle and touch the enitre technology stack including Hosting infrastructure (web server, OS, network etc.), Program/maintain/bug fix, and Operation & support.
You will form part of a small cross functional team that has full ownership of developing, maintaining, and operating a given product and its environment. Early starts (8am) and going on-call may be required and there may be some client contact/work via email and phone.
Our prefered programming technology is .Net (vb.net and C#). We don't require you to have .Net experience but you must be able and willing to learn .Net quickly with little help.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, bug fixing, and operating & supporting various software.
- Hands on coding.
- Ensure the smooth operation of services within given service parameters.
- Continually develop ones technical knowledge.
- Demonstrate independence, creativity and initiative and the ability to master a solid understanding of the company's architecture and its business goals.
Requirements:
- 2:1or higher in a Computing related degree is required.
- Strong A/Ls.
- Demonstrate that you can code and understand concepts(we don't care which language)
- Demonstrate a solid understanding (not experience) of web development technologies such as ASP.Net, PHP, Python, or Ruby and HTML/CSS
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of database concepts such as data models and SQL.
- Effective communication skills and fluency in English are required.
- A friendly, helpful, customer orientated attitude.
- Must be a self starter and keen/able to learn and adapt.
- Demonstrate a very keen interest in technology.
- Commercial experience is not required but you must be able to demonstrate talent via academic projects, personal projects and interests.
- Already resident in the UK with a valid permit/visa to work in the UK and willing to work in London.
Bonus:
- Knowledge/experience in Agile/Lean development methodologies.
